Gravita Exim Ltd, is commissioned to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the various recycling plants. In accordance to the norms of the Ministry of Environment of the country, the document Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been prepared to provide a detailed description of the proposed project, to highlight the major associated environmental risks & the solution which are already incorporated in this project being a Regular and organized Lead Recycling Practice. The assessment conforms to the terms of reference (TOR) which was set out in the Guidelines by the Ministry of Environment.

Methodology

The assessment is designed in such a way to ensure that as much pertinent data as possible was collected from appropriate sources. This included the following:

Inspection of the Project Site

A number of site visits were made in order to gain a thorough understanding of the site layout, general features, and the surrounding environment. Photographs were taken of the proposed site and the existing factory and other pictures where they will be relevant throughout the report.

Design of the Recycling Plant

All available information regarding the design, layout of the existing and proposed plant has been obtained from the factory.

Soil and Groundwater

The available information concerning the soil quality and nearby aquifers and wells are obtained from concerned departments.
